Ordering
Do you still operate on a subscription model?
Not by default. We have moved away from automatic annual shipments and now offer a preorder program.
Each year, customers receive information about the upcoming edition and have the opportunity to order before publication. Preordering allows customers to take advantage of special preorder pricing, free shipping, and receive the newest edition when it is released.
If your office prefers the convenience of automatically receiving each new edition, please contact us. We are happy to discuss subscription options with you.
When do I pay for my order?
Orders are placed and paid for before the books are shipped. Our preorder program allows customers to receive special pricing on upcoming editions while helping us better plan our printing and inventory.
Can I order more than one copy?
Absolutely. Many law firms and legal organizations purchase multiple printed handbooks or eBook licenses, so attorneys and staff members have convenient access throughout the office.
How do I place an order?
The best way to place an order is through our website www.mariposapublishing.com. You may also contact Mariposa Publishing if you have questions about pricing, quantities, eBook licenses, or which option is best for your office. You can contact Brian directly at brian@mariposapublishing.com.
eBook Questions
I’m having trouble logging into my eBook. What should I do?
Each eBook license allows one active device or session per login at a time.
If you are unable to log in, the most common reason is that your account is still logged in on another device.
Simply closing your browser does not log you out. Your browser may keep a session active for minutes, hours, or even days. To prevent this, please use the Log Out button when you are finished using your eBook.
Your account will also automatically log out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
If you continue to have trouble logging in, please contact us. We can reset your active sessions so you can access your eBook again.
Can I use my eBook on multiple devices?
Yes, you can access your eBook from different devices, but each eBook license is assigned to one individual user and email address and allows one active login session at a time.
If you want to move from one device to another, log out of the first device before logging in on the second. Each person who needs access to the eBook must have their own individual license.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Use the password reset option on the eBook login page. If you are still unable to access your account, contact Mariposa Publishing and we will be happy to assist you.
About the Handbook
Why use the Mariposa Publishing Handbook instead of searching government websites?
Government websites are important sources of information, but the information legal professionals need can be spread across many individual court, county, state, and federal websites. Each website is organized differently, and locating a particular phone number, filing fee, court contact, or government office can take time.
The Mariposa Publishing Handbook brings frequently used court, judicial, government, county, legislative, filing fee, and other legal reference information together in one organized resource.
The goal is not to replace official government sources, but to make it easier for legal professionals to locate the information they use throughout their workday.
How accurate is the Mariposa Publishing Handbook?
Accuracy is extremely important to us. Our team of human fact-checkers works to verify the information included in each edition before publication.
This includes contacting courts, government offices, agencies, and other organizations and reviewing names, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, filing fees, personnel changes, and other important information.
Because legal and government information can change at any time, we also welcome updates from our customers and independently research suggested corrections before making changes.
How often is the information updated?
Every edition undergoes an extensive review and verification process before publication.
Throughout the fact-checking process, our team contacts courts, government offices, agencies, and other organizations; verifies contact information and websites; reviews filing fees; and researches reported changes.
We also continue reviewing information after publication and make additional updates to our online eBooks quarterly to help keep the information as current as possible.
What information is included in the handbook?
The Mariposa Publishing Attorney’s, Paralegal’s, and Administrator’s Handbook brings together thousands of contacts and legal reference resources. Depending on the state and edition, information may include:
- Judicial contact information
- Federal courts and federal offices
- Appellate courts
- State-specific legal information

How do you verify the information?
Our editorial team uses human fact-checkers rather than relying solely on internet searches or information carried forward from previous editions.
We contact courts, government offices, agencies, and other organizations to confirm information and research reported changes. We also review websites, email addresses, phone numbers, personnel information, filing fees, and other details as part of the verification process.
When customers send us suggested corrections or updates, our editorial team independently researches the information before making a change.
Can I suggest a correction or update?
Absolutely. We welcome information from the legal professionals who use our handbooks every day.
If you notice that a court contact has changed, an office has moved, a phone number or website needs updating, or other information may have changed, please let us know.
Every suggested update is independently researched and verified by our editorial staff before it is incorporated into a future edition or eBook update.
